However, I’m way more than half serious that this is a funkalicious album.  You’re insane to not take a listen.  Mike Falzone is an independent musician / funny guy from Connecticut. I had the pleasure of watching him perform as part of Mike Lombardo and Driftless Pony Club’s tour back in March.  At that show, he got the small coffeehouse in the mood for a slammin’ good show and his music was both hilarious and authentic at the same time.  His latest album, Almost Half Serious, has a surprising mix of the acoustic sounds I heard him perform live, as well as some more groovy tunes that seem to have a touch of irony, but it’s impossible not to move along.  I wasn’t sure what to expect from him with this album, but as I listen to it right now, I can’t keep my body still. It’s just got that ‘life is good’ vibe and the lyrics make you chuckle at the same time.  He busts a few rhymes and drops a few beats along the way.  Mike wrote on his tumblr about this album and why he’s giving it away for free.  He said, “I don’t want your money, I just want to make you smile.” How can you deny a man that simple pleasure in life?
